Five ways to make your holiday luxurious

Last Updated: September 20, 2023By Categories: Travel

Booking a breakaway is a treat, so when planning and reserving your next one, why not go above and beyond to make it that bit more luxurious? There are many ways to take your trip to the next level – you could upgrade your hotel room, organise for a chauffeur to drive you around or be your airport transfer, or book an award-winning restaurant for your evening meals.

Luxury can cost a bit more, but it’s well worth it. You’ll enjoy excellent service, be treated to experiences you may never get to do again and it’s also nice to treat yourself every once in a while. With new ways to experience luxury being launched each year, below we look into five ways to make your next holiday more luxurious.

Arrange a chauffeur for your trip

If you are going to be staying in a five-star hotel and dining in award-winning restaurants, then you are going to need a car to get you around. By booking a chauffeur you are driven around in a premium vehicle like a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce with all the hassle taken out of getting around. You won’t need to worry about navigating the city on public transport and you’ll have the knowledge and support of your driver when organising other activities. Time is one of the most precious things in life and on holiday a chauffeur will save you plenty of it. They can pick you up and drop you off at the airport in style and will ensure every part of being transported on your holiday is done so to the highest standard.

Visit a luxury destination

While there are a number of nice hotspots around the world, some are known to be more lavish than others. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the relaxation places such as the Caribbean or the Maldives bring. Mauritius is another special place to visit with many high-end resorts for you to enjoy. Fancy a city break? London has many five-star hotels like The Ritz or The Dorchester that will give you the finest touch of luxury. For something completely different, you could escape on a cruise ship and visit multiple destinations on one trip.

Upgrade your hotel room

Whether you are staying for a weekend, a mid-week break, a week, or longer, upgrading your hotel room is a great way to make your holiday more luxurious. Depending on your budget, there may be several upgrades you can go for, from a standard to a deluxe room or a balcony to a suite. Different hotels will offer different benefits when upgrading so make sure you do your research when deciding how much of an upgrade to go for. If you haven’t booked your hotel yet, you could look to upgrade the hotel itself, going from a 4-star to a 5-star.

Book into award-winning restaurants

Part of a holiday is the excitement of trying different cuisines at different restaurants. No matter where you visit, there will be a whole range of award-winning ones that you can try. Look out for ones with a Michelin star or AA-Rosettes as an indication of their levels of opulence, luxury and quality. It may be that the country you are visiting has an award system that isn’t used where you live so look this up prior to booking. Award-winning restaurants give you the chance to try some of the best food around and often they are located in beautiful areas. To make it an even more luxurious experience, why not pair your meal with the local wines?

Upgrade to an airport lounge if you are flying

A holiday starts as soon as you leave your home, so if you are flying, why not make the start of your holiday more luxurious by booking an airport lounge. Airport lounges often allow you to check in quicker, include premium drinks before your flight, prepare fresh meals and make your overall experience in an airport much easier.
